5 More Movies We Can’t Wait to See
Ticket to Paradise
George Clooney and Julia Roberts are teaming up again, both having signed on to star in the Universal Pictures’ romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise. It’s a perfect pairing, as we loved them together in Money Monster (pictured) and the Ocean’s Eleven franchise. Ticket to Paradise will be directed by Ol Parker, who also helmed Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Clooney and Roberts will play a divorced couple that travel to Bali to stop their daughter from repeating an error they made 25 years earlier.
Sinkhole
Who doesn’t love a good Jordan Peele supernatural thriller? Add Issa Rae to the team, and it gets even better! Rae and Peele are producing, and it looks like Rae will star as well in an adaptation of the short story Sinkhole, about a young family who moves into what looks like their dream home, except for the gaping sinkhole in the backyard. That sinkhole manages to take all things that are broken and destroyed and make them perfect again. Until..
Bee Gees biopic
Wouldn’t it just be Too Much Heaven to see a Bee Gees biography with Kenneth Branagh directing and Barry Gibb executive producing? Bohemian Rhapsody producer Graham King is also on the team. No title or casting decisions have been made yet, but we can bet we’ll keep you posted. The Bee Gees, after all, are among the world’s best-selling music artists of all time, and responsible for seminal hits like “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart,” “Nights on Broadway” and “Stayin’ Alive.” Ah the memories!
Father of the Bride remake
We know — it’s hard to get excited about a remake, but as you may or may not recall, the Steve Martin-starring 1990 feature was a remake of the Spencer Tracy starring 1950 film. This latest version, about a father of the bride coming to terms with his daughter’s nuptials, has an excellent twist: it centers on a large Cuban-American family and stars the ever intriguing Andy Garcia, who will also executive produce. Here comes the novia!
Finding You
Based on the bestseller There You’ll Find Me by Jenny B. Jones, Finding You features a young violinist who travels to an Irish coastal village and encounters a heartthrob teen idol. Romance, drama, angst and joy ensure, not necessarily in that order. The great thing about this one is that you won’t have long to wait — it’s opening in theaters only on May 14. Find out more about it on FindingYouthe Movie.com, and see the trailer below.
