It seems like it’s been ages since we last saw Claire and Jamie in the throws of passion, doesn’t it? It actually hasn’t been that long. Outlander Season 7 will pick up only a little more than a year after Season 6 left off, with the season finale airing just last  May 1, 2022.

To give you a recap of Outlander Season 6, (not because you didn’t watch it but just because you like to re-live it) out on Fraser’s Ridge, Claire dealt with the aftermath of sexual assault, Bree and Roger set out on a new adventure accommodating their growing family, the Christies appeared on the scene, we found out what really happened during young Ian’s absence of a few year, Jamie came to some decisions about the pending revolution, and everything went to pieces when Malva’s assertion that Jamie fathered her unborn childresulted in Claire being wrongfully arrested for Malva’s death.

When will the Outlander Season 7 air?

The highly anticipated seventh season of Outlander is set to premiere on Friday, June 16 at midnight ET. On linear, it will debut on STARZ on Friday, June 16 at 8:00 PM ET/PT in the U.S. and Canada.

New episodes will be available to stream weekly on Fridays at midnight on the STARZ app, all STARZ streaming and on-demand platforms and will air weekly on the STARZ linear platform.

How many episodes will there be?

They’re really going to draw this one out, giving it the Yellowstone Season 5 treatment. The upcoming seventh season will be split into two parts of eight episodes each, with the back half airing in 2024.

And if that’s not enough for you, the series has already been renewed for an eighth and final season, and also a prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood centering on Jamie Fraser’s parents has been greenlighted for a first season.

What will the final season be about?

Outlander Season 7 will be based on the seventh (out of nine) book in the Outlander series, An Echo in the Bone.  It covers the adventures of Claire and Jamie Fraser continue in America during the Revolution, joined variously by their nephew Ian Murray, longtime friend Lord John Grey, and Jamie’s illegitimate son, William Ransom.

The plot also follows Jamie and Claire’s daughter Brianna and her husband Roger MacKenzie, who have finally managed to return to the 20th century with their two young children, Jeremiah and Mandy.

STARZ announced several new additions to the Outlander family, including Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Hunter and Joey Phillips as Denzell Hunter.

Of course they’ll be joining returning fan-favorites Caitríona Balfe as Claire Fraser, Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser, Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as Young Ian, David Berryas Lord John Grey, Caitlin O’Ryan as Lizzie Beardsley and Paul Gorman as Josiah and Keziah Beardsley.
